What is inheritance tax?
Inheritance tax must be paid on around 3% of estates.
You don't have to understand inheritance tax - or even know whether the estate is taxable - to use The Probate Wizard.
The Wizard works everything out based on the information you provide.
What happens if inheritance tax is due?
Even if inheritance tax must be paid, the Wizard can help you make significant savings on legal fees.
After completing the Wizard, choose our Probate Reports package. Having already completed a large part of the process by yourself, you can take these reports to a solicitor or other professional to pay tax and apply for the grant on your behalf. Or you can continue the process yourself.
Making full use of exemptions
The Probate Wizard makes sure that inheritance tax exemptions and reliefs are applied fully and accurately, ensuring that, for non-taxable estates, no inheritance tax has to be paid.
Transferring a nil-rate band
The "transferable nil-rate band" is a very useful tax relief. If it applies, the Wizard compiles the form you need and tells you what to do.
You don't need to understand the transferable nil-rate band to use the Wizard. It does all the hard work for you.
