Last permanent address of the deceased

If you are dealing with the probate process, you will need to know the last permanent address of the deceased.

It is often a different address from the deceased’s main residence. The deceased did not necessarily own their last permanent address.

It could be:

  • The deceased’s own home (rented or owned by the deceased);
  • A care home; or
  • A relative’s home.

It is an address which was not intended to be temporary, probably where the deceased spent more than a few weeks.

"Usual address"

It is very probably the same as the “usual address” stated on the death certificate.
