How to order copies of a death certificate
A death certificate is in fact a "certified copy of an entry". You can buy as many copies as you need for a few pounds when you register the death.
For many, the easiest way to order more copies is to visit the General Register Office’s online certificate ordering service.
Alternatively, contact the registry office where the death was registered. The Direct Gov website can help locate your nearest registry office.
For why the death certificate is important, see our guide “What is a death certificate”?
