General power of attorney
Also known as an ordinary power of attorney, this is a simple but powerful document by which a person may appoint an attorney to deal with that person's affairs. Unlike a lasting power of attorney, the arrangement will be ineffective if that person loses mental capacity.
A general power of attorney does not have to be registered and it can be revoked at any time.
